How to use the Drag and Drop moves to manage the Break List in Floor plan format?

In this article, we explain how to use drag and drop moves to effectively update your Break List.


  • To open a position.
  • To close a position.
  • To break staff.
  • To swap staff.



How to open a new position?


You haven't autofilled the Break List yet, meaning you have available staff coming from break


  1. Click on the header of the position you want to open.
  2. The Break List will assign a staff member to it.



An alternative method is to right click on the position to select who to send to that position



You have already autofilled the Break List meaning all your staff have a position assigned to them and none is available.


If you click on the position, it will open it but also shows a warning indicating that the Break List could not assign a staff member. You can close the position by clicking on it.



One solution is to lose a Breaker.


  1. Drag a staff member who supposed to BRK another staff.
  2. Drop that staff inside the closed position.
  3. Your new position is now opened for the next interval.

  2. Drop that staff inside the closed position.
  3. Your new position is now opened for the next interval.





Another solution would be to close an existing position


  1. Click in the header of the position to close it
  2. Drag the staff from the closed position to another closed position
  3. Your new position is now opened for the next interval.



I want to close a position.


This works whether the Break List has been generated or not.


  1. Click on the header of the position you want to close.
  2. The position will be closed for the next interval and the staff sent to break.




  1. Right-Click on the header of the position to offer a sub-menu
  2. Select Close.
  3. The position will be closed for the next interval and the staff sent to break.




I want to close a position and use that staff to break another staff


  1. Click on the header of the position you want to close.
  2. Drag the staff member from that closed position
  3. Drop it in an opened position to send staff to break






I want to swap staff in the current interval. Autofill button must be RED


  1. Drag and Drop a staff member from one position to another to swap with



I want to swap staff in the next interval. Autofill button must be GREEN


  1. Drag and Drop a staff member from one position to another to swap with
