How SMRT determines Staff clocking state?

SMRT classifies Staff clocks depending on when they are triggered against a shift,

In Site settings, click on Business parameters. You have access to a variable "Anomaly time period".The Anomaly time period sets the valid period of time when Staff can validate their shift through clocking IN and OUT.

Anomaly time period setting

What are the different clock's state?

We have various states and they are all calculated against one Anomaly period and twice the anomaly period.
Let's assume that we set the Anomly time period at 60 minutes.
Anomaly 1 : 60 minutes outside the shift start and end time.
Anomaly 2: Anomaly time outside Anomaly 1 for the same length.

Anomaly state

Early IN: Between Anomaly 2 start time and Anomaly 1 start time - 1 second.
Valid IN: Between Anomaly 1 start time and shift start time - 1 second.
Late IN: From Shift start time to half shift time.
Early OUT: If a Valid IN is present, anytime before the shift end time - 1 second.
Early OUT: If no Valid IN is present, anytime from Half shift time to Shift end time - 1 second.
Valid OUT: Between Shift end time and Anomaly 1 end time - 1 second.
Late OUT: Between Anomaly 1 end time and Anomaly 2 end time - 1 second.

Note: Any clocks outside this structure won't be recorded.

All clock state outside the Valid ones (anomaly 1) will trigger a timecard review.
Within the timecard, any missing and/or outside Anomaly 1 clocks will carry an anomaly which Management can review at any time and preferably before the cut off period date ends.

The Ipad clock App will always display the state of a clock to Staff when they clock, Please see our article "iPad Clock App messages".
